Josh Jacobs Says He Learned A Lot From Former Raiders Teammate (3)

After spending the first five years of his NFL career with the Las Vegas Raiders, two-time Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs signed with the Green Bay Packers during NFL free agency, giving him a fresh start in the league and a hefty contract that he’s been wanting for the past two years.

Even though Jacobs has proven over the last couple of years that he is one of the best running backs in the league, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star feels the need to prove himself to his new teammates in Green Bay.

Jacobs attributes this kind of work ethic and determination to being teammates with superstar wide receiver Davante Adams in Las Vegas over the last few years, as he claims that Adams with the Raiders was the best thing for him regarding what he’s learned from the veteran and applied to his career moving forward, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

“Sometimes you see the end result, but you don’t see the work that it takes to get there,” Jacobs said. “Having Davante Adams come to the Raiders was the best thing for me … I seen a player be great on a day-to-day basis. For me, that’s what I try to bring.”

Josh Jacobs explains why he feels need to prove himself to new teammates even as a recent All Pro:

Along with simply wanting to prove himself to his teammates as a newcomer in Green Bay, Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million deal with the team, which resulted in the team releasing veteran back Aaron Jones this offseason.

That move could prove costly if Jacobs is unable to fill Jones’ shoes in Green Bay, which means he’ll have a lot of pressure to produce next season, especially with the team expecting to compete during the 2024 NFL campaign.
