Born on 11 February 1998 in Wellesley, Massachusetts, US, Tsai grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, where her family moved when she was seven.
She began her career in TV at the age of 18 when she was cast in the 2016 season of Terrace House: Aloha State. The Japanese reality TV show is quite like Big Brother in format, as it follows six strangers living together in a house for four months while under constant observation by a panel of six commentators.

At the time of being cast in the show, Tsai was supposed to join college. But she decided to move to Tokyo to fulfil her ambitions in the world of entertainment.
2. She became a famous model after making her TV debut
Lauren Tsai started her modelling career soon after the end of her appearance on the TV show. She continued her stay in Tokyo. Her focus on building her modelling career was so deep that she even let go of an opportunity to get into an art college.
She has since appeared in numerous magazines in Japan and Hawaii and has also walked the runway for luxury designers such as Marc Jacobs and Fendi.
