Every Movie Releasing In Theaters In July 2024 (2024)

July 2024 is slowing down on theatrical releases compared to recent months, but it will still bring an interesting variety of movies, such as the return of Gru, the final installment in Ti West’s X trilogy, a horror movie starring Nicolas Cage, a new Deadpool adventure, and more. 2024 has already seen the release of some of the most anticipated movies of the year, of which many have become critical and commercial hits. July 2024 is taking it easier with fewer movies, but it’s still bringing a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy.

June 2024 saw the release of some of 2024’s most anticipated movies, such as Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Pixar’s Inside Out 2, the drama The Bikeriders, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Kinds of Kindness, and the horror movies The Watchers, The Exorcism, and A Quiet Place: Day One. While some of these continue to play in theaters thanks to their success, July will accompany them with the fourth installment in the DespicableMe saga, the closing chapter in Ti West’s X trilogy, a standalone sequel to Twister, and Deadpool’s highly anticipated debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Gru and his family are back with a new adventure in Despicable Me 4. Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) are now parents to four kids: Margo, Edith, Agnes, and Gru Jr. When criminal Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) escapes from prison, he and his girlfriend, Valentina (Sofia Vergara), seek revenge on Gru, forcing the latter and his family into relocation for their protection. With new identities and a new home, Gru and his family try to adapt to a “normal” life but are unable to escape conflict and adventure.

Mother, Couch follows an elderly matriarch (Ellen Burstyn) who, while leaving a furniture store, suddenly sits on one of the couches and stays there. As she refuses to leave, her three estranged children – David (Ewan McGregor), Gruffud (Rhys Ifans), and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) – gather at the store to figure out how to escape from this increasingly bizarre predicament. Soon, the siblings find themselves on a mind-mending odyssey that forces them to face life-altering truths about their lives.

However, she collides with social media superstar Tyler Owens (Glen Powell) when terrifying, never-before-seen phenomena are unleashed. The pair, along with their competing teams, soon find themselves fighting for their lives in the paths of multiple storm systems converging.
